The millwright would, as the name suggests, be responsible for constructing and maintaining corn mills, saw mills and paper mills mostly powered by wind and water.
The natural cast iron trestle legs of the Assendon Millwright range pays homage to one the earliest engineering trades.
The high grade Norwegian Spruce timber will withstand years of seasonable European weather, without further preservation, and will improve with age, going from a light green shade when new, to a deeper natural wood colour and then a silvery grey of characterful old time worn timber after a year of two.

The Norwegian Spruce timber used is chosen for its lovely aesthetic wide beam design, setting it apart from run of the mill. The tanalised wood initially has a green tinge to it, is not kiln dried and so subject to slight movement, colour change and minor cracking. This rustic finish and settlement is considered part of its charm & character, so over time the timber will naturally dry out, move a little and turn a silvery grey.
Tanalised wood is is high grade, durable and lasts for many years exposed to the elements, it is pressure treated to protect against fungal decay and insect attack.
Please note: due to the nature of the wood if you are looking for a more perfect finish for outdoor furniture we would recommend the Busgrove Outdoor oak collection.
The tanalised wood will naturally last for many years unprotected. However, to prolong the original honey colour of your timber or for further protection you can apply a cover or your choice of preservatives, treatments, stains or paint by following the manufactures instruction at your discretion.
